I have been involved with the Capertee Valley for 15 years and have discovered a perfect stillness in the sheer beauty of the ever-changing landscape. From pastured rolling hills to rugged mountains with spectacular sandstone cliffs rising from the timber, the changing light and effects of different weather conditions, provides visual inspiration. But there is more to it than that. There is an inner stillness, internal peace, a link with ancient times; this is a special place. To be surrounded by such beauty it almost becomes an obligation to express your response through some form of art. Having been interested in sewing and various crafts all my life, it is a natural direction to explore textile art forms. The process of working with raw fibre and creating a unique piece is a rewarding experience. Each work, created with passion, is a tribute to the beauty of the fibre and the beauty in which they are created; a beauty that I would like to share with you.

Forest Details
Wool blend with silk and beads
Forest Details Forest Details Forest Details Forest Details

A stunning sleeveless lined jacket is made from wool blend fabric with embelishments of smocked sueded silk. It is finished with metal beadwork. Sueded rolls on the armholes reflect the Elizabethan age.

This one-off piece is the result of a creative partnership to reveal, enhance and develop the inherent beauty of organic forms. To release the splendour lying within the material itself and by using a number of techniques to embellish the works, each unique piece is the result of an individual adventure that evolves during the creative journey. The depth of the effects of combining different fibres, textures, lustre and colours intrigues me.

This garment is made from wool blend fabric and may be dry cleaned but select a specialist drycleaner who is familiar with cleaning beadwork and delicate fabrics.
